LONDON: Plans for a ?blanket? 20mph speed limit covering most of London have been scrapped, campaigners claim. Former mayor Ken Livingstone had encouraged councils to make a wholesale switch from 30mph to 20mph, amid evidence that the slower limits could cut accidents and injuries by half.
